Hydaulic Valves

Hydraulic valves are used to control the flow of fluid within a hydraulic circuit or system. There are various types of hydraulic valves and all have a separate function within the hydraulic system.

Our hydraulic engineers advise customers on what type of valves are needed for their application, and we can supply the complete range of hydraulic valves, as well as all other fluid power components and services, from a single source.

Sourcing Hydraulic Valves

Derek Lane & Co stocks an extensive range of robust and reliable hydraulic valves at our facility in Newton Abbot, Devon. In addition to our stock of hydraulic valves, we source them from some of the world’s leading manufacturers including:

Extensive Range of Hydraulic Valves

We can source and supply any type of hydraulic valve, configurable to your requirements no matter the application or industry you are in.

Our range of hydraulic valves includes:

Directional control valves (DCV)
• CETOP valves or spool valves (CETOP2, CETOP3, CETOP5, CETOP7, CETOP8)
• Cartridge valves (as known as poppet valves)
• Screw-in cartridge valves (SICV)
• Proportional control valves or monoblock valves
• Servo hydraulic valves
• Pressure control valves
• Flow control valves

Types of Hydraulic Valve

Directional Control

Directional control valves (DCV) or CETOP valves contain a start/stop function and control the direction of hydraulic oil, either forcing pressure on or taking pressure away. DCVs are either electrically controlled with solenoids or mechanically controlled via manually operated levers or rollers. These valves include 4/2 directional control valves which give four connections and two settings to complex stack or sandwich systems.

Proportional Control

Proportional control valves allow flow and pressure to be increased or decreased gradually, which gives more precise control to applications as they speed up or slow down the operation. The more advanced and increasingly popular type of this valve is the servo-hydraulic valve which integrates advanced control electronics together with measuring and feedback devices, which gives operating even more control and precision.

Pressure Control

Pressure control valves are one of the key safety valves used in hydraulic systems and can be used to provide a fixed pressure to a system, pressure relief, or pressure reduction. They are crucial to controlling the force on a piston rod or the torque on a motor shaft to maintain the output pressure and prevent overloading within the system.

Flow Control

Flow control valves manage the flow and therefore speed in a hydraulic system, by decreasing or increasing the opening at the throttling point. They automatically adjust to changes in temperature and pressure.

HYDRAULIC VALVE CONFIGURATION

Derek Lane & Co are based in Newton Abbot, Devon. We offer custom hydraulic valve configurations to businesses across all industries, throughout the UK.

Our hydraulic engineers and workshop team work closely to design, configure and assemble valves to your requirements. We have an extensive range of capabilities in-house and are able to provide a variety of valve configuration services, from changing coils and testing to the assembly of complex sandwich valve blocks and wiring of servo valves.

We also offer custom control valve build and repairs of all types of hydraulic control valves.
